Memorial Biography

Jonathan Nicholas Sileo, age 68, died at home in Greensboro on July 18th, 2013 as a result of cancer in his gall bladder and liver.

Nick was born in Chester, PA to Louis and Catherine Sileo on June 17, 1945. He graduated from Northern York County High School in Dillsburg, PA  in 1963, where he was a star wrestler and running back. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in accounting from Drexel University. Nick's hard-working career included accounting, sales, and business leadership roles in industries ranging from steel manufacturing and commercial trucking to a regional airline and a family fruit farm.  All of that experience culminated with 17 years as a ground-breaking Snap-On Tools Franchise Owner in Reading, PA, where he won numerous sales awards.

Persuading the pretty girl from the neighboring family farm to marry him turned out to be one of the best decisions of his life.  Sandy Lerew became the love of this life, and together they shared 46 years of happiness while raising three proud and successful sons.  "Papa" will also be remembered fondly by his four grandchildren, Eva, David, Cece, and Zack. He enjoyed the last two years in loving happiness with his fiancé Diane Abshier of Greensboro, NC.

In his leisure time, Nick enjoyed golf, walking quietly in the woods, and watching waves crash on the beach.  He and Sandy enjoyed special moments throughout their lives at the Outer Banks.  He was a founding member and career money leader of the Annual Sileo Men's Golf Outing.  Nick was known for his good nature, sense of humor, and selfless commitment to his family and loved ones.

Nick was preceded in death by Sandy and his special brother, Dana Sileo.  Nick is survived by his sons, Tony of Spring City, PA, Andy of Reading, PA, and Brad of Upper St Clair, PA; his brothers Lou of Madison, WI and Dave of Butler, PA; his daughters-in-law Chrissy of Upper St Clair, PA and Ro of Spring City, PA; his grandchildren Eva, David, Cece, and Zack; and his fiancé Diane.

Memorial donations may be made to Berks Christian School, Sileo Scholarship Fund, 926 Philadelphia Ave, Birdsboro, PA 19508. Condolences, pictures, and stories of his life may be left on this site.
